We received a phone call from a person claiming to be associated with Hilton - told us they got our information since we had just booked another trip that day (which was true - so we believed them). They said we could book a 6 day, 5 night vacation to all these resorts (listed reputable brands), plus a bonus 8 day cruise. We felt it was a scam, but asked all the right questions, felt like Hilton wouldn't associate with shady companies, so we went with it. We decided on a resort and asked to book and it has been a frustrating ordeal. First of all, the nicer the resort, the shorter the vacation option. All of their 'affiliated' resorts are only 2 and 3 star hotels. We also asked for an upgraded room, and since we wanted the nicer hotel, they told us they couldn't book that for us. They also let us know we were subject to being bumped to a different location if our choice resort was full. Additionally, after our agreement, we were told that we'd have to attend a 'resort tour' on the first morning of vacation. I specifically asked in our recorded phone conversation if we were obligated to anything like that and they said no. They also told us we would pay a $99 booking fee (which is listed on the contract) and they changed the fee to $150. Yesterday, I asked for a full refund because we agreed to none of these terms. They told us today we were referred to the financial department and would hear back Monday. I pray we are able to get our $1,000 back. We felt at the time that we would otherwise not be able to take a honeymoon, so we were more gullible than usual... but now we know.
