We made a settlement with CBNA several years ago and received a 1099 to claim on taxes. THD/CBNA keeps reporting we are $15000 past due still. When I call The Home Depot they refer me to a number that is IRBDispute. I've spoken to several people at this number and they tell me the balance is zero - I asked why they are reporting as past due after I already settled and paid taxes on the difference? They tell me they'll get back with me and never do - every time I call it's like Groundhog Day - starting all over again. It has affected our ability to buy a house and even get a bank account. The people that answer are from India and I can barely understand them as it is. I disputed with Equifax and Transunion and they reported I still have a balance so they won't remove the past due amount
