I ordered silver laced chicks from jonathan stone the new owner of heiloom orpingtons. I waited up until about a month ago to receive my chicks. Every inquiry i made it took them weeks to respond and there was an excuse, weather, vacation or they moved. Finally I have requested my money back as i will spend it else where with the other people who actually have silver laced chicks to sell and they told me i have to wait for a refund then it was they have to send a check then a money order it is coming close to a year of them having my money and i have nothing to show for it. They are always posting about taking vacations or doing renovations to there house and i guess i can say your welcome for paying for your free trips and free house because they sure took me for my money. Jonathan and holly both removed non family from there facebook so there customers would not know how often they take trips so make sure you can at least be friends with a poultry breeder before you buy. also beware of there terms and conditions: Terms and Conditions

We are not a large scale hatchery, and only hatch to order. Orders are fulfilled in the order in which full payment is received. Payment plans and deposits can be arranged upon request, but the order will not be set until full payment is received.

MINIMUM ORDER FOR CHICKS IS TEN. If you order less than 10 chicks we will NOT refund your order. We will email to let you know the order hasn't met our minimum. You can either order additional chicks at that time, or we will 'pad' or 'fill' out your order with roosters of different varieties.

Once your order is received we will send you an email which states that your order has been accepted. This email will have a guaranteed delivery window. If you place your order before or on January 31st 2015, we guarantee that your chicks will be shipped before April 30th 2015, weather permitting. If you place your order after or on February 1st 2015, we will give you a delivery window which can be up to three months after the date the order has been placed. You will then receive at least one email per week detailing your order and shipping details. You will receive a shipping month and then a shipping date once we have set your eggs for you. This date will be confirmed as close to shipping as possible. If you know there are certain weeks you are unable to receive your order, please let us know as soon as possible.

As of January 1st 2015, we will be vaccinating all chicks for the following diseases: Marek's, Newcastle, Fowl Pox, Coryza. If you do not wish to have your chicks vaccinated against any/all of these diseases, please contact us after placing your order.

Where you have selected an exact shipping date for your order this will be adhered to at all times, unless weather delays the shipping of chicks. We will not risk the lives of any birds in order to rush shipments or adhere to impatience. These will only be shipped providing the weather is safe to do so. If we as a company fail to adhere to your shipping date, you are eligible to receive a full refund or double your initial order at a later date. This does not apply to any weather related delays.

A $25.00 cancellation fee applies to any and all orders canceled. Cancellation can only occur within 7 days of the order being placed. If we cannot adhere to your guaranteed delivery window, you are entitled to cancel your order with us and receive a full refund. This does not apply to any weather related delays.

If you have used the deposit only code of DEPOSITONLY, your deposit is not eligible for a refund upon cancellation by yourself for any reason. Should we fail in any of our commitments to you surrounding shipping dates then a full refund will be made available. This does not apply to weather related delays.

If you wish to add, remove or replace chicks we are happy to do so. This will be free on the first occasion. Each additional change will be subject to a non-refundable change fee of $5.00. To change your order, email info@heirloomorpingtons.com at least three weeks prior to your scheduled ship date to qualify. After we have set eggs for your order, we are unable to change it for you.

We ship on Mondays and Tuesdays depending on the combination of chicks ordered. Chicks are shipped for arrival at your local Post Office Tuesday through Thursday depending on hatch date. Chick shipping is now free to all zip codes! Juvenile and adult bird shipping is a variable price dependent on your zip code. The price you see at checkout includes the box, food, and insurance for the value of your shipment. Please note, Priority Mail Express postage will not be refunded unless the delivery or attempted delivery is more than 3 days after the day of mailing. This policy comes directly from the United States Postal Service and is as follows:

"Effective Sept 8, 2009, the Postal Service is changing the postage refund eligibility standard for Express Mail shipments of live animals. With this change in policy, postage refunds will not be available for Express Mail shipments of live animals delivered or attempted to be delivered within three days from the date of mailing. Postage refunds requests for Express Mail shipments of live animals delivered after three days from the date of mailing may be paid."

If USPS delays or loses your shipment, we will replace the order at the earliest opportunity. We will not refund or cancel your order. We will make and complete all the necessary claims with USPS, however, you must also fill in paperwork with USPS (form 609) as close to the time of the chicks arriving as possible. Without this form, we can not make a claim through USPS and any refund or replacement will be denied.

If any birds are damaged or deceased within 24 hours of arrival, we request photographs of the shipment within 48 hours of arrival so that we can make the necessary claim and replace your order, or issue a credit note for the value of the bird. Without photographic evidence, you will not receive a replacement or credit note. We ask that you report your total losses one time, at the end of the 48 hour period. The 24 hour guarantee excludes pick-up orders. This photograph can be sent to: info@heirloomorpingtons.com You must also fill in paperwork with USPS (form 609) for us to be able to process this claim.

Please note, any juvenile or adult birds may not be able to be replaced immediately.

Due to restrictions from Paypal, credit card processors etc any refunds will be refunded within 14 business days. This is normally sooner, however other companies' policies have been taken into account for this timescale.
